One of the internet users shared -“Today, Sept. 2, 2022 a guy left a message on my home voicemail “solely for” my ex husband’s name (who no longer lives here). The caller said ” I am an independent courier out of Cobb County and havew been tasked with delivering a certified legal document on Tuesday between 3 and 5 pm” — just Tuesday, no calendar date given, which raised my suspicion). I live in Georgia, and there is a Cobb county here. The caller seemed to be on a cell phone with poor reception. He said, “If I am unable to obtain your signature, I will have to document this as a direct refusal to comply… (the rest of that sentence was garbled). Then he said for more information or to reschedule the delivery to call (888) 392 – 0528 and be sure to reference file number…” My caller ID said the call came from (912) 305 -0503 “Name Unavailable”
“Say they have old credit card debit you owe and courier will be !@#%$ng out with paperwork for you to sign. They want your SSN and don’t say anything and try to get you to pay. My RIverside, IL Police Department says this is a SCAM and not to get fooled or sign anything.”
