The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Mumbai placed Aryan Khan under arrest. Aryan Khan is the son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. They apprehended Aryan along with two others from the Empress ship off the coast of Mumbai. This event took place on Sunday, 3rd October. According to officials, Aryan was placed under arrest on the basis of evidence. These pieces of evidence were collected during the investigation. The two others whom the police arrested were Munmun Dhamecha and Arbaaz Merchant. They have been booked under sections 8 (c), 20 (b), 27, and 35 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. These three were produced in the Magistrate’s court in Mumbai. The hearing is currently underway. Advocate Satish Maneshinde is arguing on behalf of Aryan in court.
According to the arrest memo, the police arrested Aryan Khan at 2 pm. The charges were “involvement in consumption, sale and purchase” of contraband. The memo revealed that the NCB seized 13 grams of cocaine, 21 grams of hashish, and 22 MDMA (Ecstasy) pills. The officers revealed that Aryan Khan was arrested for drug consumption. The other two were placed in custody for possession of drugs. These three persons were taken for medical examination and brought back to the NCB office in Mumbai on Sunday. Earlier on Sunday, NCB recorded Aryan’s statement in connection to the rave party they busted on Saturday night onboard the cruise ship. All these statements that were recorded under the purview of Section 67 of the NDPS Act are voluntary. In his written statement, Aryan Khan denied the purchase of drugs.
The police also recorded the statement of the other five suspects. They were Nupur Sarika, Mohak Jaswal, Gomit Chopra, Ismeet Singh and Vikrant Chhoker. After this, it is likely that they will be placed under arrest. All the electronic gadgets of Aryan Khan and the other accused were seized. The NBC scanned the devices to find out if the accused had any involvement in the possession or consumption of drugs. The NBC is looking for the drug peddler who supplied drugs to the cruise ship. His name came to light during the interrogation. NBC is also looking for a man named Gopal Anand. He has a huge role in organizing the party on the ship. The Director-General of the NCB said that they received information about the rave party about 15 days ago.
He said, “We had received very confidential information 15 days ago about the drugs party on the ship after which we carried out this operation. We have got evidence against those who have been detained. People who organized this party on the ship will have to face an inquiry, they cannot escape the investigation.” The NCB gave a statement that “on the basis of specific information, the officials of NCB Mumbai conducted a raid on the Cordelia cruise that was bound from Mumbai to Goa on October 2. During the operation, all suspects, as per the information, were searched and various drugs like MDMA/Ecstasy, cocaine, MD (mephedrone), and chars were recovered. NCB has registered crime no. Cr 94/21 in this matter. Further investigation is underway.”
