Four Medals for India in Tokyo Paralympics 2021 on one day

After a dreamy Saturday, it is Monday to have four Medals on a day. India made this dream real in Tokyo Paralympics 2021.

Shooter Avani Lekhara creates History. She earned the gold medal. She got this, firing her way to the top of the podium in the R-2 women’s 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 event here. The 19-year-old girl is from Jaipur. She was sustained spinal cord injuries in a car accident in 2012. She finished with a world record-equalling total of 249.6.  Her record is also a new Paralympic record. And Avani created history.

Another one is Nishad Kumar. He got the silver medal for T47 Men’s high jump event. India’s Nishad Kumar secured a silver medal on Sunday in the men’s high jump (T47) category at the Tokyo Paralympics 2021 with an effort of 2.06m in the final.

It was shortly followed by winning a silver medal in the Men’s Discus F56 event. Legendary Devendra Jhajharia went on to win a silver medal in Men’s Javelin F46 event. He is the first Indian Paralympics player to win two gold medals at the Paralympics. Sundar Singh took the bronze medal to complete his redemption in the same event. this wholesome day was all over a proud moment for India to bag so many medals on one day.

at the end of the fifth day as Discus thrower, Vinod Kumar won bronze in the discipline. But this medal got on hold. And now they declined. Unfortunately, Vinod Kumar has been found ‘ineligible’ in the disability classification assessment. So, therefore, will have to give up his bronze medal that he clinched in the men’s F52 discus throw event on Sunday.

After the manic Monday morning session in Tokyo, India went past their best-ever tally of 4 medals (Rio in 2016 and Stoke Mandeville/New York in 1984). In fact, India won as many medals as they had won from the 1988 to 2016 Paralympics in just 6 days at the Tokyo Paralympics.
