The United States blamed for the chaos during evacuation

A Taliban officer has said that the United States, in spite of all its facilities and power, failed to bring order to the Kabul airport.

On Sunday, 22nd August, the Taliban blamed the US for the chaos created during evacuation of tens of thousands of Afghans and foreigners from the capital of Afghanistan. This happened one week after the orthodox Islamist group returned to power and captured Kabul. They did this in a rapid victory that stunned the entire world. No one was prepared for this threat to peace in Afghanistan.

The United States has warned Kabul of security threats. The European Union has finally admitted that it was impossible to fly out everyone who was at risk from the Taliban. But no one could convince the Afghans of that. They tried to flee the country as they were terrified of the Taliban. But they did not succeed because the United States, with all its allies could not cope with the huge numbers of people trying to board the evacuation flights.

There was open-air shooting too. The US troops did this so that the people shiver with fright and move away from the planes. A news channel in Britain showed the footage where there were three bodies lying outside the airport covered in tarpaulin sheets. No one is certain about the reason of their death. A reporter called Stuart Ramsay said that he himself was at the airport and the deaths were inevitable. The scene at the airport was very pathetic. The crowd crushed many people and left some of them dehydrated and terrified.

Among all this chaos, the US has set a deadline to complete the entire process of evacuation by 31st August. This seems impossible. There are about 15,000 Americans and 50,000-60,000 Afghan allies who need to be transported out of Afghanistan. It is not possible to evacuate all of them by 31st August. The others who are fearing repression under the Taliban are also trying to flee. Joe Biden described it as one of the largest and most difficult airlifts in history. On Saturday, 21st August, the US government warned its citizens to stay away from the airport. It was so because Biden’s sources briefed about security threats. These threats came from the Islamist state jihadist group.

Josep Borrell, the EU foreign policy chief gave a statement. He said that the number of people the US wanted to evacuate by 31st August was mathematically impossible. He had already complained to the Americans about their airport security being very strict. This was supposedly hampering the attempts to enter by the Afghans who worked for the Europeans.

The Taliban focused on forming a government in Afghanistan. They did not have any problem with the US military carrying out the airlift. The co-founder of the group, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar came to Kabul. He intended to meet the jihadi leaders, elders, and politicians in the following days. He blamed the US openly for the chaos created at the Kabul airport.
