History of Apple

The history of Apple is very large. It has three founders namely, Steve Jobs, Ronald Wayne, and Steve Wozniak. It was decided in 1976 to develop and sell Wozniak’s Apple I personal computer. Then Wozniak and Jobs incorporated it as Apple Computer, Inc. in 1977. The sale of computers including that of Apple II grew quickly. They had instant financial success as soon as they went public in 1980.

But there were power struggles between the executives. To add to this, the high price of its products and limited application library caused problems. In 1985, Wozniak departed from Apple while Jobs resigned taking along with him some Apple co-workers. Through the 1990s, Apple lost its considerable market share to the low-priced duopoly of Microsoft Windows on Intel PC clones. In 1997, CEO Gil Amelio brought back Steve Jobs who became CEO later that year.

This company again became profitable and launched the iPhone in 2007. It was financially very successful. When Jobs died, Tim Cook succeeded him. In August 2020, Apple was the first publicly traded US company to be valued at over $2 trillion. It has a high level of brand loyalty and is the world’s most valuable brand.

When did the company launch the iPhone 12 series?

In October 2020, this company launched the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 pro Max. They were iPhones with a new design comprising of flat edges and also they were the first iPhone redesign since iPhone X. They had an A14 Bionic processor. It was the first commercially produced first 5-nanometer processor. These phones also had ceramic-hardened front glasses termed Ceramic Shields. This generation also removed the headphones and power adapter from the box because of environmental benefits.

What statement did Apple make for iPhone 12 users?

Recently, Apple announced a new service program meant for iPhone 12 users who had sound issues on the smartphone. In a statement posted on the Apple support site, the company said, “Apple has determined a very small percentage of iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro devices may experience sound issues due to a component that might fail on the receiver module. Affected devices were manufactured between October 2020 to April 2021.”

Who could receive the services?

The company clarified that this program was meant for either iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro. If any of the phones have problems emitting sounds from the receiver when they are used to make and receive calls, they are eligible for this service. This will be free of charge for the eligible devices.

The company further added that iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max were not a part of this program. It stated that they may restrict the service of the phone to the country or region from where it has been purchased. This program will not extend the original warranty of the phones. It only covers the affected devices for 2 years after its first retail sale. If an iPhone has any prior damage like a cracked screen, it will be taken care of first and will be charged accordingly.
