Who is Sidharth Shukla?
Sidharth Shukla is an Indian actor who is known for his roles in the mega serials “Balika Badhu” and “Dil Se Dil Tak”. This actor was born on 12th December 1980 into a Hindu family in Bombay (now called Mumbai). His father Ashok Shukla was a civil engineer who worked at the Reserve Bank of India. His mother Rita Shukla was a homemaker. He had two elder sisters.
It was during his modeling days that he lost his father to a lung disorder. Shukla attended St. Xavier’s High School, Fort, Mumbai. He also has a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from Rachana Sansad School of Interior Design. After getting his degree, he even worked in an interior designing firm for a couple of years.
How did he come to appear on television?
Sidharth was basically a model at the beginning of his career. In 2004, he was runner-up in the Gladrags Manhunt and Megamodel Contest. After this, people saw him in a video “Resham Ka Rumal” sung by Ila Arun. Soon after that, in 2005, he represented India at the World’s Best Model contest. The event took place in Turkey. He became the first Indian as well as the first Asian to win this title. He worked very hard to surpass his 40 fellow contestants who came from across Asia, Latin America, and Europe.
It was then that people began to know him. He appeared in advertisements for Bajaj Avenger, Digjam, and ICICI. In 2008, he made his acting debut with a lead role in a show that aired on television. Its name was “Babul Ka Angaan Chootey Na” and it appeared on Sony TV. In 2009, he portrayed the character Veer Vardhan Singh in “Jaane Pehchaane Se… Ye Ajnabbi” on Star One. People also saw him in a few episodes of Aahat. In 2011, he appeared as Rahul Kashyap in “Love U Zindegi” on Star Plus.
How did Shukla earn fame and recognition?
It was in 2012 that he had a breakthrough with the mega serial ‘Balika Badhu” on Colors TV. He portrayed the character of a District Collector called Shivraj Shekhar. It was this character that earned him fame and recognition.In 2013, he was seen in Jhalak Dikhala Jaa 6. It was in 2014 that he made his Bollywood debut in the romantic comedy named “Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania” starring Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. In the same year, he hosted a few episodes of Savdhaan India.
In 2015, he hosted yet another show called India’s Got Talent 6. By 2016, he earned more fame by winning the stunt reality show “Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 7”. He again hosted India’s Got Talent 7 with Bharti Singh just like the previous time.
Was Sidharth Shukla the winner of Bigg Boss 13?
Yes. In 2019, Shukla participated in a reality show called Bigg Boss 13 and became the winner in February 2020. Ormax Media rated him to be the most popular contestant on the show. He was ranked number one throughout twenty weeks. Polls conducted by Hindustan Times, India TV News, and The Times of India showed that people voted him as their favorite character of the show. Shukla even won the #AsliFans contest on Twitter which Voot conducted.
What happened to Sidharth Shukla after Bigg Boss 13?
He had become very popular by the time he won the show. He appeared in two music videos: “Bhula Dunga” and “Dil Ko Karaar Aaya”. Shukla even entered as one of the “Toofani” seniors in Bigg Boss 14 for the first two weeks. Again, in the Ormax rating, he was voted the most popular housemate of the show till he was there as a senior. He then appeared in another music video called “Shona Shona”.
In January 2021, he hosted Bigg Boss 14’s 16th week’s “weekend Ka Vaar” when Salman Khan was absent. Then Shukla made his Over-the-Top media service (OTT) debut in the third season of the romance web series “Broken But Beautiful”. This show is streamed regularly in MX Player and ALTBalaji. It received a positive response from the critics.
Whom did Shukla date?
It had come to light that Sidharth Shukla and Rashami Desai were dating each other while working in a daily soap. In fact, even on the show, their chemistry was as good as their chemistry off-screen. However, soon things took an ugly turn as their differences increased. Then they both left the show. But when they were asked about the relationship, both of them denied it. Later on, Sidharth was rumored to be dating Shehnaaz Gill. But it was not confirmed.
How did Shukla die?
Shukla’s death was a huge blow to the Indian audience. He died on 2nd September 2021 after suffering a heart attack. Shukla was just aged 40 when he left for his heavenly abode.
